Class ten some maths set question unit 1
In a survey of a group of farmers 60%do buffalo farming 55% do cow farming and 35% do both find % of farmer who do not do buffalo farming and cow farming .
Solution :
Let n(s) denotes the total % = 100% (In percentages)
Let, buffalo farmer denoted by n(B)=60%
And cow farmer denotes by n(C)=55%
Now n(BnC)= 35 % When both like =(BnC)
NOW no(A)= n(A)-n(AnB)=60-35 =25
NOW no(B)= n(B)-n(AnB)=55-35=20
We have
no(A)+no(B)+n(AnB)+n(AuB)=n(u)
25+20+35+ n(AuB)=100
n(AuB)=20%
so 20 % are do not do any works
